Currently Loving

I haven’t written one of these posts in such a long time. I stopped doing the monthly favourites this year just cause I wasn’t using a whole lot of new stuff each month that it would be worthy of a post every month so I’ve decided to just write one when the time seems right and since it’s been about seven or eight months since my last, I figured it was time for an update on what I’m currently loving.

  • Africology Tissue Oil – I’m currently on antibiotics for my skin as my acne has been really bad lately that nothing can really fix it. Being on this medication has side effects of making the skin really dry. So I’m using a lot of good hydrating moisturisers and I’ve recently started using this tissue oil on my peeling skin and so far, it’s really helping repair my skin that my skin has stopped flaking. This is also great for nails. I apply a little bit of this on my nails, and my cuticles are instantly soft and well taken care of. The only downside I have with this product is the scent, I’m not really a fan of how it smells but it’s nothing overpowering and the scent doesn’t linger.
  • Elizabeth Arden Cream Lip Protectant Stick – Along with my skin being dry from the medication, my lips too, are getting really dry and it doesn’t help that it’s winter as well so I’m having to apply a bit more than usual. This not only smooths out the lips but it also soothes the pain as I found that before my lips were actually hurting, well sort of like a stinging pain and whatever lip balm I used before wasn’t soothing my lips like it need.
  • Redken Dandruff Shampoo – A few posts ago, I talked about how I get rid of dandruff and in that post I mentioned this shampoo. I’ve suffered from some really bad dandruff in the past where’s I’ve had to under go some treatments to clear my dandruff then I would use this shampoo to keep my dandruff at bay. Since it has come back pretty badly, I’ve had to use this as my daily shampoo and it never seems to fail me. I’ve been using this for years now and I honestly don’t plan on changing dandruff shampoos.
  • Secret Garden: An Inky Treasure Hunt and Colouring Book – Not really beauty related but I’m sure you’ll have heard of adult colourings books, specifically the ones by Johanna Basford have become really popular. I order my copy from Amazon and went to my nearest stationery store and bought Staedtler Fine Liner Pens and lets just say, I’ve become addict. The designs in this book are absolutely stunning, the pages are thick enough to not let the ink of the pens go through although I’ve heard using other brand of pens are a bit more harsh and the ink does go through so try to use Staedtler Fine Liner Pens if you can. Also, the outlines of the design don’t smudge so you’re not left with these random patches of blackness in your colouring. This book is so much fun and defiantly recommend if you’re into this sort of thing.
