Book Club Month – January 2015
Last year, I was recommending a book to read each month and I would post a review up about the book so if anyone wanted something new to read, you could check my blog out and read the review. This year, I want to still do this but slightly different. This year I’ve started a new job that requires full time so of course, I don’t have all the time to read like I did before but I would still like to read. So I’ve decided that I’ll set a goal of reading 24 books this year, two each month and my favourite of the month will be featured as a blog post or they both might be featured.
Since I’ve spent a lot of of this month being sick, travelling, preparing for work and working, I haven’t had any time at all to pick up a book and read so that’s why there’s only 1 book that’s been read this month. The book that I have read this month is It by Alexa Chung. It’s a quick book to read if anyone wants to give it a read you still can as I’d love to discuss it with you guys and you could share your thoughts on the book.
It by Alexa Chung
I got this book as a gift from a friend on Christmas and to be perfectly honest, I had no idea Alexa had written a book and that the book was about her life. I also don’t follow the life of Alexa closely either, I’ve just know and seen her in a few shows here and there but I was still interested to read up on Alexa as I know a lot of people look up to and admire Alexa whether that be who she is or what she wears.
The book features a lot of personal images throughout Alexa’s life and she talks about her style, and who her style influences are. It’s interesting to read her thoughts on the phases she went through in life. Now, if you’re not really a big fan of her or don’t really know her then is probably not the book for you as it’s not really personal book but she doesn’t talks about the troubles in her life but more about who her influences are and the do and don’t of some fashion styles.
If you’re a fan of hers then defiantly give this a read, you’ll get to know her a little more plus you’ll get some great tips on how to style your clothing if you’re someone who wants to dress similar to her.
Since I only read one book in January, one of the next few months I’ll have to read 3 books. I’m looking at April as it’s the Easter holidays. The books I’ll be reading in February is Who We Are by One Direction. Being a fan of theirs, I’m curious to know their thoughts on the craziness that their life has become. And I’ll also be reading The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien. Since I’m a huge fan of the LOTR and Hobbit movies, it’s about time I read the books.
Have you got any book recommendations?
