A Few New Reads
Having been super busy the past few months, I haven’t really had the chance to sit down for hours and read like before. I really miss reading a book, diving into a different world so I picked up a few books and would really like to get reading them this winter and if a story is really, really good, I’ll write a separate post about it.
- The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins – There has been a lot of hype around this book lately and since I’m a sucker for over hyped things, I picked it up. The story is about a girl who takes the train everyday and see this couple in their suburban home as the train passes until one day she see on the newspaper that the woman she saw everyday has gone missing. From reviews that I read, it seems like a thrilling and suspenseful book. This is defiantly one I’m excited to read.
- Now That I Found You by Ciara Geraghty – I’m a sucker for romantic stories and sometimes I really like the cheesy ones. When I was out browsing the book store, I stumbled across this book and it’s synopsis caught my attention. It’s about a single father who is a taxi driver, trying to raise two children and he meets a women who is unable to move after a terrible accident. This story seems like a sweet story where the two meet and it will be interesting to see how the story unfolds considering both their situation.
- My Sister Lives On The Mantel Piece by Annabel Pitcher – Found this on the kids/teen section in the book store. After reading the synopsis, I’m wondering why this is in that section. It’s about a family struggling to move on after the loses of their daughter/sister. The protagonist is the 10-year-old brother. This story seems like a book for when you want a good cry. We shall see how it goes as I have seen good ratings for this book.
Have any of you read these books? I’m always open to suggestions for new books to read.
